Asphalt Compaction

All Hamm HD Series compactors have hydrostatic drive to both drums with infinitely variable speed up to 9 mph, manual or automatic vibration mode, and choice of single or double-drum vibration, and that's only the beginning.

On large HD Series machines, Hamm provides a 3.9-inch offset to either the right or left side at the articulation joint, allowing the front or rear drum to be offset for increased rolling width, better maneuverability, and for joint "pinching" capability. On smaller HD models the offset is 2 inches. The offset capability is teamed with three independent braking systems with an emergency stop button. A pressurized water system with time pulse mode allows the operator to efficiently use water through the work day.

Dual spring-applied scrapers will be found on front and rear drums. A wide open and easily accessible operator platform with a deluxe, adjustable operator seat mounted on rubber isolators provides hours of operator productivity. Two multi-functional drive levers to control speed, direction and vibration.

Hamm GRW Series rubber-tired (pneumatic) compactors feature a pressurized water spray system, time pulse mode for water spray, dual oscillating front axle, and automatic high engine temperature alarm. They incorporate dual operator's stations. These models also permit multiple ballast materials.

GRW 15 Pneumatic Roller
(23,800 - 53,000 lbs. operating weight)

GRW 18 Pneumatic Roller
(30,000 - 62,000 lbs. operating weight)

Hamm GRW 15
and GRW 18 pneumatic rollers have a generous 2-inch tire overlap, even at half of the maximum turning angle, and have four wheels each front and back (eight total). Dual pivot poins on the front axle provide high stability and manueuverability. They also have three-speed power shift transmissions, smooth, jerk-free shifing with hydrodynamic drive (no chain drive), and high on-site mobility, with transport speed of up to 12.5 mph.
